Royan Institute for Reproductive Biomedicine held its 4th hands-on workshop on Fluorescence in situ Hybridization (FISH) techniques on December 26-27th, 2012. This workshop was organized by Reproductive Genetics department of Royan Institute and the scientific manager, executive secretary and instructor was H Vazirinasab.

FISH techniques workshop brought out the following four sections: 
  • an introduction to FISH technique
  • Interphase-slide preparation from whole blood using direct harvest method
  • FISH in practice
  • Fluorescence microscopy, image acquisition and analysis.

Eight students (1 PhD, 4 MSc & 3 BSc) of various fields including Molecular and Cellular Biology, Molecular Medicine, Laboratory Sciences, Developmental Biology & Veterinary participated in this two-day workshop and followed the topics described above.
