The topics discussed or practically trained are as follows:
  • Basics and applications of induced pluripotent stem cells (iPS cells)- theoretical
  • Viruses in iPS cell generation - theoretical
  • Mechanisms of iPS cell generation - theoretical
  • How to transfect cells for viral production - theoretical and practical
  • How to transduce cells for reprogramming - theoretical and practical
  • Identification, pickup, and propagation of iPS cells - theoretical and practical
  • Characterization of iPS cells by spontaneous differentiation and alkaline phosphatase staining - theoretical and practical
12 students with diverse fields of expertise (from cell biology to MD to anatomy) participated in this two-day workshop.
