The 18th Royan International Research Award wrapped up its work on August 31st, 2017 by awarding the top five international researchers beside five national scientists selected from among 239 research articles of 45 countries.
 
Winners of Royan 18th International Research Award gave lectures at Royan Twin Congress on Reproductive Biomedicine and Stem Cell Biology and Technology along with invited speakers to almost 1840 audiences.

Prof Thomas Braun from Germany received the prize of STEM CELL BIOLOGY & TECHNOLOGY for submitting the paper entitled "Compaction of Chromatin Seals Quiescence of Muscle Stem Cells". Dr David Greening from Australia won the prize of EMBRYOLOGY for having the paper entitled "Exosomes: A New Paradigm in Embryo-Maternal Cross-Talk for Successful Implantation". Prof Riccardo Fodde from The Netherlands had the prize of REGENERATIVE MEDICINE for his paper entitled "Diet, Inflammation, and Stem Cells: Trading off Regenerative Response with Cancer Risk". Prof Kaei Nasu from Japan gained the prize of REPRODUCTIVE GENETICS for submitting the paper entitled "Roles of Aberrantly Expressed microRNAs in Endometriosis". Dr Khaleque Khan from Japan had the prize of FEMALE INFERTLITY for his paper entitled "Molecular Detection of Intrauterine Microbial Colonization in omen with Endometriosis". The national prize of FEMALE INFERTLITY went to two Iranian scientists; Dr Mahnaz Ashrafi for her paper entitled "Assisted Reproductive Outcomes in Women with Different Polycystic Ovary Syndrome Phenotypes: The Predictive Value of Anti-Müllerian Hormone "and Dr Mahdi Sheikh for his paper entitled "Granulocyte Colony Stimulating Factor in Repeated IVF Failure: A Randomized Trial". The national winner of ANDROLOGY was Dr Kambiz Gilani for his paper on "Untargeted Metabolomic Profiling of Seminal Plasma in Non-obstructive zoospermia Men: A Non-invasive Detection of Spermatogenesis". The national winners of STEM CELL BIOLOGY & TECHNOLOGY were Dr Fereshteh Esfandiari for her paper on “in vitro Generation of Meiosis-Competent Germ Cells from mbryonic Stem Cells by Engineering the Delivery of BMP4” and Dr Hossein Ghanbarian for his paper on ”RNA-Directed Programming of Embryonic Stem Cell”.
 
All research projects were submitted online through which the above mentioned ones were invited to take part in the Award Ceremony and were rewarded for a certificate, the symbol of Royan Award and the amount of $5000. In order to submit projects it is needed to register in Royan International Research Award website, get a username and password and submit related project(s) in the fields of Reproductive Biomedicine, Stem Cell Biology and Technology, and Biotechnology. The submission procedure requires project abstract, full paper(s) in PDF format, and a CV.
