The Oocyte Biology group is interested in ovarian biology and the regulation of mammalian oocyte development, the development of oocyte maturation techniques, and particularly cryopreservation of oocytes and ovarian tissue in experimental models. The research program of this group spans basic discovery research to applied research and clinical trials. A key objective of the discovery research program is to obtain the ability of having a bank for the cryopreservation of oocytes and ovarian tissue. The group works primarily in animal models but is also actively engaged in pre-clinical trials of research to develop new treatments for female infertility.
